Owning a vehicle is purely a matter personal preference. It would be mighty boring if the only bike on the market was the Suzuki Savage. Variety is the spice of life. Personally, having owned and ridden bikes since 1972, I've found that there is no one bike better than the rest. That's not to say a particular model is so full of bugs that you should steer clear of it. But, the Savage doesn't fall into that category. The Yamaha VStar Custom is a nice looking bike, although not as simplistic as the LS650. Another thing I learned over the years is that KISS (keep it simple...) makes things easier. The simplicity of the Savage and its beat all price makes it a winner. I might add that the Kawasaki Vulcan is also a nice looking and performing bike... as are the HD Sporters in this price range. I think it's great that there are so many bikes - especially cruisers - available to choose from. It appears that there's a resurgeance of the popularity of owning and riding bikes again... and I think that's great.
